I have been to Ukraine. To Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv and more.
I do not monger on holidays but I can tell you that Odessa and Kyiv are very different from Lviv. In a disco in Kyiv or Odessa you can pick up a girl quite easily. In Lviv this is not impossible but it is very rare. Lviv is the most 'Western' city not just by geograpy but also in mindset. So a lot of very sincere, hard working people, who try to lift their country to a higher level.
I know of three ways to find a girl:
1. internet, for example http://en.lvivescort.com/ but that is without any guarantee.
2. learn the Russian or Ukranian word for prostitute, jump in a taxi and tell them what you want. They might refer you to another taxi driver. Anything can happen, so don't do this if you are not adventurous.
3. Just roam the streets in a normal mood. Sit on a bench in a square, etc. Girls will smile at you and if they speak English you can start conversation. I had a few of these conversations. One of them even bought me a present. I do not monger on holidays, but some of them are available.
Most certainly you should not do the Kyiv, Odessa routine and expect that a lot of girls just like you for your money or for being Western European. That will bring you little and might cause you trouble.
